# Daily credits

> Understand the daily credit budget, how it is calculated, and when the credit limit applies.

Daily credits limit how many synchronizations PricePirate runs for your shop each day. They are not a consumable balance that shrinks during the day, but a **daily budget**: the sum of all daily synchronizations across your active listings.

## How the budget is calculated

Your used daily budget is the sum of the **daily synchronizations** across all active listings. One synchronization equals 1 credit. A listing with 3 daily synchronizations therefore uses 3 credits while it is active; a deactivated listing uses none.

Your **daily credit limit** depends on your plan. You can see the current usage and the limit in several places:

* in the dashboard tile **Daily credits**,
* in [Billing](/docs/en/guide/account/billing),
* indirectly through the [synchronization settings](/docs/en/guide/account/settings) when you adjust the number of synchronizations.

## When the limit applies

The limit is checked when the budget would increase — not continuously during the day:

* when **activating** price monitoring for one or more products,
* when **raising** the daily synchronizations of a listing.

If the step would exceed your plan's daily credit limit, the **Daily credit limit reached** dialog appears with the option to change your plan.

If you activate several products at once and the remaining budget is not enough for all of them, PricePirate distributes the available credits: the daily synchronizations per listing are reduced as far as needed (at least 1 per listing) so that as many listings as possible fit into the remaining budget.

  A **boost range** does not increase credit usage. It only schedules the daily synchronizations more densely within a specific period, while the daily total stays the same. See [Settings](/docs/en/guide/account/settings) and [Synchronization](/docs/en/guide/automation/syncs).

## Lowering usage

You control daily usage through the number of synchronizations per listing. Volatile products benefit from more synchronizations; stable products need fewer. Adjust these values shop-wide in [Settings](/docs/en/guide/account/settings) or per listing in the [product settings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/product-settings).
