# Quickstart

> Set up market, products, listings, shop name, strategy, and price monitoring in the recommended order.

This quickstart takes you from installation to active price monitoring in six steps. The app also shows a **setup guide** that walks you through the most important steps — with a **YouTube tutorial** and a **Request setup help** button that loops in support directly.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Choose a market">
    Decide which marketplace PricePirate pulls offers and price data from. In shops with multiple markets, you manage the markets and the **market for price changes** in [Settings](/docs/en/guide/account/settings) under **Markets**. Some marketplaces are only available with assisted setup — contact support in that case.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add products">
    Use the **Add products** button to select the products or a collection from your Shopify catalog that PricePirate should monitor. See [Add products](/docs/en/guide/catalog/add-products) for details.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Connect listings">
    Connect each product to the matching marketplace listing, per market. For activation later, the listing on the **market for price changes** is what counts. See [Connect listings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/connect-listings) for how the modal works.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add your shop name">
    Enter your own marketplace shop name so PricePirate can tell your own offer apart from competitors'. You enter the **Own shop name** in [Settings](/docs/en/guide/account/settings); in shops with multiple markets you maintain it per market in the **Markets** table.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Assign a pricing strategy">
    In the [Product settings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/product-settings), assign a [pricing strategy](/docs/en/guide/pricing/strategies) to your products and set its limits such as the minimum and maximum price in the [strategy settings](/docs/en/guide/pricing/settings). Without a strategy you can still activate monitoring, but no price changes are calculated.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Activate price monitoring">
    In the [Product settings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/product-settings), switch on **price monitoring**. This is possible once a product has a connected listing on the **market for price changes** and your shop name is set for that market.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The in-app **setup guide** condenses this setup into four guided steps (market, products, shop name, pricing strategy). It is a shortcut through the key points — this quickstart explains the full order.
</Note>

## After setup

Don't switch on auto-apply right away. First check that everything runs as expected:

1. **Wait for the first sync.** After activation, PricePirate pulls the first market data. See [Synchronization](/docs/en/guide/automation/syncs) for how syncs run.
2. **Review price changes.** Look at the suggested changes in the [review list](/docs/en/guide/price-changes/review) and apply individual ones manually.
3. **Test your strategy.** Check your strategy against current listing data, as described under [Test a strategy](/docs/en/guide/pricing/test).
4. **Only then enable auto-apply.** Once listings, strategy, and price limits are verified, enable [auto-apply](/docs/en/guide/price-changes/auto-apply).
