# Detail view

> Track how prices and your position on a single product developed over time – offer by offer.

The detail view shows the price and rank history of a single tracked product, with one line per vendor. It is built from the **measurements** of the connected [listing](/docs/en/guide/concepts/listings-and-offers): each point on a line is a measurement.

You open the detail view from [Product metrics](/docs/en/guide/insights/metrics) – through the **Show details** button on a selected row, or by clicking a price chip.

## Chart views

Four buttons above the chart switch between the views. Each line stands for a vendor; your own offer is highlighted (a solid, thicker line) and comes first in the legend, while competitors appear as dashed lines.

* **Price** – each vendor's product price without shipping over time.
* **Total price** – each vendor's [total price including shipping](/docs/en/guide/concepts/total-price).
* **Price rank** – the resulting rank by product price.
* **Total rank** – the rank by total price including shipping. This view is the default.

In both rank views the best rank is at the top: lower is better. The time axis spans the selected window.

## Legend and vendors

The legend below the chart lists every vendor measured on the listing within the window. Your own shop is highlighted by color. Clicking an entry isolates that vendor and hides the others; clicking again shows all lines again.

<Note>
  The number of offers does not necessarily equal the number of different vendors, as vendors can have multiple offers. In the rank, each vendor counts only once.
</Note>

## Controls

To the right above the chart you adjust the view:

* **Time window** switches between **7 days**, **14 days**, and **30 days**; the default is **7 days**.
* **Marketplace** appears only when more than one marketplace is configured – the same rule as for the [table filters](/docs/en/guide/insights/metrics#filters-and-controls).
* **Navigation** moves to the [product settings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/product-settings), the [price changes](/docs/en/guide/price-changes/review), or the [reports](/docs/en/guide/reports/overview) for this product, and opens the listing on the marketplace through **View listing**.

The **Back** button returns to the metrics table and keeps your filters.

## When no data is shown

Instead of the chart, a message appears depending on the situation:

* **Not connected to a listing** – connect a listing first so that measurements can be created. Read more under [Connect listings](/docs/en/guide/catalog/connect-listings).
* **No offers found for this period** – check that the listing exists and price monitoring is enabled. Measurements are created once the [synchronizations](/docs/en/guide/automation/syncs) run.

When competitors undercut you repeatedly, review the product's [pricing strategy](/docs/en/guide/pricing/strategies) and [test it](/docs/en/guide/pricing/test) against the current market data. For the same history across the whole marketplace, use the [Positions](/docs/en/guide/reports/positions) report.
