PriceShape is one of Europe’s bigger pricing platforms: competitor monitoring, dynamic pricing, purchasing and marketing modules, plus brand/reseller monitoring – used by more than 800 companies and ISO 27001 certified. It’s a genuinely capable platform. The question is whether you need a platform, or a focused tool.
All PriceShape facts below come from PriceShape’s public website (as of June 2026).
What is PriceShape?
PriceShape (headquartered in Denmark) serves two audiences: online retailers who monitor competitors and optimize prices, and brands/wholesalers who track how resellers price their products. On top sit modules for purchasing, marketing ad-spend optimization, and an AI pricing analyst called Penny. Onboarding is high-touch: every customer gets a dedicated Customer Success Manager and a three-step onboarding (strategy, technical, and best-practice meetings).
The catch: price and process
PriceShape’s own pricing page states plans starting from €599 per month, with the final price depending on your assortment and markets – delivered as an individual quote from a product specialist. The Enterprise tier is fully custom.
For a platform of this breadth, that’s not an unfair price. But it means:
- You only learn your real price after a quote round.
- You pay for platform modules (brand monitoring, purchasing, ad-spend) that a pure Shopify merchant may never open.
- The floor is roughly €7,200 per year – beyond the software budget of many small and mid-sized stores.
PricePirate as an alternative
PricePirate does a narrower, very concrete job: repricing and price monitoring for Shopify merchants on price comparison sites, with Idealo as the core channel. That includes dynamic discounts, which lower the price on the marketplace only, without touching your regular shop price.
- From $59 per month ($49 billed yearly) – all three plans are public on the pricing page, no quote process.
- Native Shopify app: install from the App Store; product data and price changes flow directly through your store.
- Idealo focus: competitor prices, positions, and volatility on the price comparison site that dominates the German-speaking market, with up to 8–16 price syncs per day.
- Safety rules: minimum price and margin rules per variant, so automation never undercuts your floor.
- Self-service start, personal support: 14-day free trial without a credit card or mandatory meetings. Support stays individual anyway: direct contact by phone or email in every plan – no chatbot, no business-hours chat queue.

When PriceShape is the better choice
If you manage a large assortment across multiple markets and channels, monitor resellers as a brand, or feed pricing data into purchasing and marketing decisions – in short, if you’re an organization that needs a pricing platform and has budgeted for one – PriceShape is a strong option. The same goes for merchants not running on Shopify.
When PricePirate fits better
If you run a Shopify store, your products are listed on Idealo or other comparison sites, and you want your prices tracked and adjusted automatically several times a day with margin protection – without a five-figure annual budget or a quote round – PricePirate is the more direct solution. Start the free 14-day trial and compare for yourself.
