This warning appears when PricePirate could not unambiguously match some listings to a single marketplace offer. As long as the match is not unique, PricePirate cannot measure reliable competitor data for these listings.

Cause

The most common reason is a match by title instead of by EAN/GTIN: if the product has no unique EAN, PricePirate matches on the title, and several similar offers qualify as candidates. Other reasons are:
  • Multiple candidate offers fit the product equally well.
  • Identical or very similar products share the same offer page.

Solution

Open the ambiguous listings

In the notification, click Fix problem to see the affected listings.

Check the product's EAN

Make sure the affected variant has a unique EAN/GTIN in the Barcode field of the Shopify variant. With an EAN, PricePirate matches the listing unambiguously instead of guessing from the title.

Resolve the match manually

Use Connect listings to select the correct offer when several candidates remain.

Add an EAN/GTIN in the Barcode field for every variant in Shopify. PricePirate then matches listings unambiguously by EAN and avoids the ambiguous match by title.
